Years ago a Buddhist nun, Ani Trime Lhamo, with a mischievous smile and a twinkle in her eye, told me, “I’m going to give you a secret teaching. Let be. Let go. Give up the struggle. So what?”
I see losing my data as practice in letting go. I have lost my career, my income, my house, my mobility, my independence, active involvement with my family, and contact with friends. Letting go of two years’ of work should be doable!
Nothing “bad” comes without something “good.” As Hamlet said, “There’s nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”
And as William Blake wrote, “Without Contraries, there is no Progression.”
So we’ll see what good comes with this loss.

THAT’S the spirit, friend!
You are in the grad school of spiritual living, while the rest of us are in kindergarten. Lead on….!
I agree w Allison……you are now lighter and wiser and $850 richer:-) You continue to be/come a beacon, dear friend.
I don’t know what to say, your second sentence makes me so sad although I know you know how to make good out of bad.
I just can say “loves to you”.
JoWynn, I just tagged you for a Meme….go have a look on my blog, and I hope you will play along!
What a great piece of wisdom. Your data may be gone, but your joy is intact.
You Go Girl! That’s just the attitude we’ve come to expect from you. What an inspiration you are!
